The shading's well done on this, and I imagine it took quite a while. My major critique of the piece would be the anatomy. The chest protrudes at too odd an angle, and the front paws are too stubby, too short to seem like those of a real cat. The head though was realistic.

its from a photo I took, which is why there seems to be an odd foreshortening happening and the cat is sitting in a strange way, leaning foward with all four feet together . I wanted to draw it because I liked the eyes

Mm, I'm sure it wasn't really a mistake of proportion, but if the person who sees the picture thinks it's a mistake, it's the same as it being one. =]

I'd have to agree with ~nycterent, it's a bit awkward. II think that if you were to crop it, it would look fine :)

You have a really good grasp on tone use, though.

thanks, I think next time I will choose my refrence photo more carefully, or change it in my intial drawing a bit more.

nice tones...nice shade...token from a photo, no no evident anatomy mistakes...
hard to judge basing just on one pic...
maybe just...next time a costruction behind the anatomy would fix all the "unexisting errors", and give the draw a "depht"
